I am a lifelong gardener, naturalist, and tree climber, professionally certified as an arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture in 2012 and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture as a landscape pesticide applicator in 2013.

I work as arborist, landscaper, and consultant primarily for private residential clients, helping them care for their trees, shrubs, and gardens. I pride myself in helping property owners see the big picture and make well-informed decisions, with a view toward long-term, sustainable management.

I provide all phases of tree care, from design and planting to pruning and removals. I specialize in certain things I have grown quite good at, namely:

Tree and Shrub Pruning – My favorite activity. Good pruning improves plant health and property appearance like little else. I prune for health, appearance and practical reasons such clearance and spacing simultaneously. If you know how you want your trees pruned, I can do it. If you don’t, I can help you figure it out, and leave them perfectly pruned on your behalf.

Tree and Shrub Health Assessments and Integrated Pest Management Treatments – I am a licensed pesticide applicator with years of hands-on experience diagnosing and treating tree and shrub health conditions caused by insects, fungus, fertility, and other factors. If you need to know “what’s wrong with my tree” and want to fix it without an excess of chemicals, I am one of your best bets.

Tree Risk Assessments and Removals– I give reliable, impartial advice on whether a tree should be pruned, removed, or cabled for reasons of safety. I love trees, not so much money, and am committed to preserving the forest canopy whenever possible and providing honest advice always. If you need a trustworthy opinion on whether a tree should be cut down, you may count on me.

The Tree Doctor is a small business, fully owner-operated. I am usually present on jobs to supervise and help perform the work myself. I make regular communication with clients a centerpiece of my work and strive to maintain long-term relationships with the people and trees I am lucky enough to meet.
